must decide if he can give Conor a second chance This is a feel good second chance romance between, Mac, the art agent, and his college sweetheart, Connor. It was great to see Mac again but he deserves a larger story than he is given Second chance romance isn t my favorite I guess I am not too forgiving The reasons Connor left without really communicating are lame but he was really young I like this couple together and had fun seeing all the gang again A must read for fans of the Guy series but don t start here. 3.5 If you haven t read The Guy series, skip this book it does not work as a standalone A Guy s Thanksgiving lets us revisit with all three couples from the previous books and introduces us to a new one Anthony and Dean are married and as happy as ever raising their brood of foster kids Anthony gets the flu right before the big holiday, and Dean, who doesn t cook, has to pull off a Thanksgiving meal Jesse flies to Arizona for an art exhibit and to spend Thanksgiving with Thanksgiving surprise for Jesse Little does Aaron know that Jesse has a surprise of his own Henry and Locke are solid, even though Locke is still gruff and a man of few words Henry has always wanted a cute little dog he could dress up in sweaters, but sometimes what we get is not what we want but what we need I really enjoyed visiting these men again Jesse and Aaron have come a long way and fit together perfectly I smiled big seeing their joy I was touched by Locke and Henry s dedication to their new family member, even though Apollo broke my heart a little What worked less was the new couple, Mac Jesse s agent whom we met briefly in book 2 and Conor This was a former lovers reunited story, but it was too short and truncated to make me care about the couple The book has multiple POVs that switched between chapters Aaron, Anthony, Henry, Conor, Mac Introducing a new couple in the middle of that, even if they did have history together, made their story feel rushed This is still a fun addition finale to the series, but I think Mac and Conor deserve a book of their own Recommended for lovers of the series A Guy s Thanksgiving can be considered as an update for all the couples from Cates The Guy series Because of that, I really don t recommend this to be read separately Among the three couples, the updates wereprominent for Jesse and Aaron both were going to propose to one another, without the other knowing as well as Henry and Locke s who were making the next step in their relationship, adopting a dog Meanwhile Anthony and Dean were pretty much solid I always thought the update was pretty much Dean must whipped out the Thanksgiving dinner since Anthony was down with flu It was very domestic of them though, since they were the one who also got several foster kids.My favorite update would be of Henry and Locke What can I say, that dog they ended up adopting just tugged my heartstrings I couldn t help it, my heart went out for the dog, and I was as nervous as both men for the well being of Apollo. We did have a new couple Mac Jesse s agent and Conor, unfortunately the development of their story felt like it was being shoved under all the updates It was under cooked the whole separation was pretty lame and the reunion rushed It was a downer because I always love reunion theme in romance It will probably be different if they have their own novella novelIn overall, if you love The Guy series, you might want to get this one too This was a sweet read that fans of this series are sure to enjoy I loved getting to visit with the characters from the previous books and the setup from what I hope will be the next one A nice, low angst, holiday read.
