obtain medication for Dustin, who was injured during their escape from a zombie invasion of their Safe Haven or home in the first book, they must now face the wide open, zombie infested terrain to find and reunite with Collin and Dustin unsure whether the two are still even alive Hope can be a dangerous thing, but it s all Ren has to keep moving forward with Finn, a man she both loathes and desires If you thought the passion brimming beneath the antagonism between Finn and Ren was intense in the first book, you will find the continued friction and sexual tension between them now has grown so taut that it s only a matter of time before it all explodes A central question is whether they trust each other enough to survive the aftermath As I discovered in the first book, whereas Ren is fiery, Finn is just as icy, and their characters continue to clash in this second installment even when they try to resist their temptation for each other.Similar to the first book, the pace of the story picks up quickly and is full of mystery and action and danger as complications continue rise and pose obstacles for the two as they get closer to finding Collin and Dustin and try to warn the other Havens about the increasing zombie hordes It appears the virus that infected them is continuing to mutate and the zombies are adapting and becomingsuccessful in their attacks Both Ren and Finn alternately narrate the story in the first person POV using the present tense, which is commonly found in new adult fiction Using the present tense gives a sense of immediacy and intensity to the situation and is an effective technique for the plot of this series Also, readers begin to discoverdetails about Finn s secretive past and why he is so reluctant for anyone to get close to him I also now realize why it is so important for Finn to have Ren s trust even though he continues to withhold so much information from her While I had a good idea of how the first book would conclude, I was shocked by the climactic cliff hanger of this book The ending left me clamoring for , and I hope Andrews won t keep her readers waiting too long As a fan of post apocalyptic zombie fiction, I really enjoyed reading these first two books, and they must be read in sequence to understand the storyline I especially liked the unusual twist to the typical zombie plot that Andrews adds in the first book, which describes how and why a cult like group called the Order organizes a celebratory tribute every year on the anniversary of the initial outbreak that occurred 20 years prior This story thread continues in the series since the Order continues to pose a threat to Ren So far, these first two books in the series are riveting and entertaining from start to finish. Those who plan to start the series should be aware that the books contain graphic violence, sexually explicit scenes, and coarse language With those caveats in mind, readers who like new adult fiction that juxtaposes the sexy and the dark may like this series as well.Source I received an ARC of this book from the author to provide an honest review.Rating 4.5 4 Finn a licious StarsSothe adventure of Finn and Ren continueI have to admit that this book was so much better than the first You can see how the author s ability to write is growing and maturing with each book I do have to admit though that I am still not a Finn fanhe annoys me with not answering questions and how he keeps giving Nurrin mixed signals UGH so frustrating.I m hoping with the next book he finally grows some kahunas and tells Ren the truth I m a closet zombie junkie Dawn of the Dead, The Walking Dead, The Resident Evil movies anything really When I first heard about this series of Nazarea Andrew s, I knew that I would be grabbing Without End is the 2nd book in the series, you do need to read the first one to truly grasp the world that Nazarea has created It s been 20 years since the virus first went live, and although the humans have survived, they are slowly fighting a losing battle Book 2 finds us shortly after the first ended, picking up in the thick of the battle as O Malley and Nurrin race to track down her brother and boyfriend.Finn O Malley Let me just say that if the zombie apocalypse ever comes, he is for damn sure the one I want to find myself with And not just because he is fucking dead sexy and a hell of a fighter He s just got something about him Something that sets him apart Nurrin sees it, and even the Walkers in the Havens can sense it he is untouchable, unbreakable He exudes confidence and authority and if you cross him, you better hope you can run, and run fast His protective and loyal nature is what keeps Nurrin at his side She needs him and trusts him with her life although she would rather bite off her own tongue than to let him know that.Nurrin Sanders is an enigma She is a First born into this world, she has no knowledge of what life before the zombies was like She s feisty, tough andthan capable of putting up with O Malley and his cocky attitude The interactions between these two were spellbinding At each other s throats one second, teasing and laughing the next, fighting back to back against swarms of zombies all the while trying to fool themselves that they aren t attracted to each other on aphysical level As they travel across the Wide Open, they only have each other to rely on, and sometimes that can be scarier than facing an angry mob of zombies I loved her character she is a badass, a girl with a burning fight inside her and an undeniable will to survive She challenges O Malley inways than one always with the fucking questions Does she always make the right decisions Maybe not but she is strong and brave enough to stand behind them, even if they are the wrong choices. The Horde Without End had me perched on the end of my seat all the way through it I was biting my nails in anticipation, kicking my feet in frustration and covering my face and reading with one eye all through the book Nazarea Andrews creates an entirely new world, and that world is changing and adapting rapidly When O Malley and Nurrin discover shocking news will anyone listen to their warnings Or has the safety of the Havens lulled them into believing that nothing can reach the survivors behind those walls Secret and lies Betrayal and loss Undeniable chemistry it all swirls around the looming threat of the growing horde of zombies Right down to the very last few pages, I was so certain I knew how this would end Out of nowhere, like a knife to the gut, Nazarea gives it a twist I never saw coming One that left my jaw on the floor and my heart in the hands of the zombies Book 3 is going to be dynamite, and I for one cannot wait. What s your protective gear Mrs Andrews this so I ll go ahead and tell you all as well I hate zombies I don t like zombie movies, I don t do zombie books In fact, I kind of think the whole zombie apocalypse thing has gotten a little out of hand and needs to go away It s everywhere and I have never really understood it My motto when it comes to zombies has always been why mess with the living dead when you can mess with the un dead because lets face it vampires are way cooler than zombies Well, I have to say that The World Without a Future and now The Horde Without End have definitely caused me to bite my tongue I loved book one, but surely Nazarea wouldn t strike gold twice WRONG.Holy hell guys I LOVED book two Horde was everything I wanted and then some I could not stop reading This was one of those you better hope you have the whole day free because once you start you wont stop kind of reads Wow Just wow I didn t even want to stop for bathroom breaks when I was flying through this Nazarea had my fully and undivided attention the entire time I said a few lines I d like to repeat from my review of book one because I think that are equally as important here Our story is one that is thrilling and honestly, scary as hell Unlike other post apocalypse worlds, Andrews doesn t paint a pretty picture filled with a whole lot of hope for the future It s nasty, it s deadly, and it s scary Terrifying I can see where Andrews has gotten some of her ideas based on her self proclaimed love of zombies, but she definitely puts her own twist on it Unlike other novels, this series was not about fighting off the zombies, it was about surviving a world with zombies The inhabitants of the Havens new cities know their chances are slim and are just doing what they can to survive Often their attempts are in vain as Havens have begun to fall Now Nurrin and Finn are on a wild adventure to find Dustin and Collin after discovering they weren t at the cave where we left them in book one From what s left of Vegas to the sights and sounds of the glamorous Haven One, Nurrin and Finn meet a fewawesome characters on their journey including Kendall Buchman, President of whatever is left of the United States Buchman is such an interesting character that keeps you guessing until the end He was a great addition to this series There are a few really emotional scenes that made me fall in love all over again with Nazarea s writing It s so real that you feel like you could reach out and comfort the characters yourself That s how close I got to them in just shy of 200 pages Seriously Great second outing Nazarea Spoiler free BUT I just have to say HOLY ZOMBIE HELL that ending How do you expect us to wait for book 3 after throwing that cliffhanger at us Nazarea I have to know what happens to the gang Also, let me just say that while I still am not a huge Finn fan, he did redeem himself considerably by the time Horde ended I guess I will just have to wait for book 3 to make my final thoughts know Question for Nazarea does anybody know how many books are going to be in this series Because I could read at least tenJust saying As an NA book this worked PERFECT The language is very gritty and can be vulgar at times, as with any NA novel Just a warning that this is not a read for children or teens The novel actually only has a couple of true sex scenes which is good for people like me who get tired of reading them all the time, BUT the novel had lots of sexual tension andthan a few extremely steamy moments Overall though, they were very well written and developed the characters immensely This book is written in dual POV split into 4 parts Hearing both characters take on the scenes was particularly interesting I LOVE NA and I am so glad I read this, because it gives me new hope for the future of the genre Thank you Nazarea Andrews for that Overall I give Horde two HUGE thumbs up, and 4.5 stars Seriously an amazing read that will definitely be making it s mark on my Best Reads of 2014 list
