if your interested in the crafts covered in this book then there are other,complete books on the subject However there are some projects I thought were interesting The grinding and preparation of Azurite was informative, these pigments were used by Chinese Tang dynasty painters and in China, worth their weight in gold I like painting blue green paintings so maybe I will go crazy and grind my own some day Also the brush making caught my eye, if you start seeing squirrels with shaved tails around where I live, you know who to blame.This book feels like a textbook for a class and lab combination on the Islamic arts, if so, it must be a great course It has a decent sized bibliography If you are an artist with an interest in creating Islamic art, I would get a copy It s a bit outside of my art interests which is why I gave it a four
